Our volunteers are at the heart of Stir Events. They help us create welcoming, inclusive and memorable experiences that bring thousands of people together across Dorset.
We welcome volunteers from local community organisations, charities and voluntary groups, as well as individual residents who would like to meet new people, develop skills and contribute to their community. We also work with businesses looking to provide team-volunteering opportunities and deliver their corporate social responsibility goals.
Ways to get involved
There are many ways to support our events, both on the day and behind the scenes. Volunteer opportunities may include:
- Welcoming visitors and providing information
- Event stewarding and audience support
- Assisting traders, performers and community groups
- Supporting children’s activities and event attractions
- Helping in accessible and quiet areas
- Supporting fundraising and donation activities
- Event preparation, setting up and clearing down
- Photography, social media and promotion
- Administrative and organisational support
You do not need previous event experience. We will match volunteers with suitable roles and provide the information, guidance and support needed to take part confidently.
Community Groups and Organisations
Volunteering at a Stir event is a great way for local groups to raise their profile, support a shared community initiative and introduce people to the work they do. We welcome enquiries from charities, clubs, associations, schools, colleges and other community organisations interested in volunteering as a group.
Corporate Volunteering
Our events provide businesses with a practical and enjoyable way to support their local communities and meet their corporate social responsibility commitments
Teams can volunteer together, contribute professional skills or support a particular event area or activity. Corporate volunteering can strengthen staff relationships, develop confidence and skills, and demonstrate your organisation’s commitment to making a positive local difference.
